Tokyo is several cities joined by exceptionally useful rail. Three days work when each day stays inside one side of the loop and mixes a major sight with time at street level.
Are three days enough for Tokyo?
3 days are enough for 3 Tokyo clusters: Asakusa and Ueno, Harajuku and Shibuya, then the centre and Shinjuku.
Day trips such as Kamakura or Nikko start making sense only after the city has at least three full days of its own.
