Nepal planning broke in 2023 and most itineraries online have not caught up: on the main regulated routes, foreign trekkers now need a licensed guide arranged through a registered agency, and the permit system split by region, with the Everest side running its own local permits instead of the old TIMS card. None of that makes Nepal harder to love. It makes it a trip you arrange 1 layer earlier: pick the agency, let them fix guide and permits, and spend your own attention on the valley's temple towns and the walk itself.
Which Nepal itinerary should you pick?
The 10 day route: 3 days in the Kathmandu valley, then Pokhara and the 4 day Poon Hill trek, the short walk with the biggest mountain payoff.
Everest Base Camp needs 12 to 14 days of walking on its own and acclimatisation days you must not skip; treat it as a dedicated trip, not an add on.

Why this page exists. Every RoamWeek page has to say something true of it and false of its siblings. For Nepal that is the question of how long to stay, which the duration pages below answer one length at a time.
