Lowest round trip fares recently found on Aviasales for each month, London to Peru, checked 31 August 2026. Prices move constantly, so read this as the shape of the year rather than a quote.

A Peru trip is planned backwards from one ticket. Machu Picchu entry is sold by circuit on the Ministry of Culture's official platform, and the popular circuits for high season sell out months ahead, so that date is fixed first and everything else arranges itself around it. The other decision is altitude: the Sacred Valley sits lower than Cusco, so the route that works sleeps in the valley first and saves the 3,400 metre city for last.

Which Peru itinerary should you pick?

The 10 day route: 2 days in Lima, 3 in the Sacred Valley, 1 at Machu Picchu and 3 in Cusco, in that altitude order.

A week forces the valley down to a transit stop and gambles the acclimatisation. Two weeks adds Arequipa and Colca, or the Amazon, each a genuine second act rather than padding.

What we checked

Why this page exists. Every RoamWeek page has to say something true of it and false of its siblings. For Peru that is the question of how long to stay, which the duration pages below answer one length at a time.
