Morocco itineraries by trip length

Last updated . Transport, entry and booking details can change. Check the named official sources before travel.

Morocco is a big country and the standard week fails on geometry rather than on anything else. Marrakech to Fes is about 7 hours by train, and the dunes at Merzouga are 9 to 10 hours by road from Marrakech in each direction. Put all three in seven days and roughly a third of the holiday happens through a window.

Which Morocco itinerary should you pick?

The 10 day route, which is the shortest one that fits Marrakech, the desert and Fes without a day spent entirely in a vehicle.

If you only have a week, pick one end. Marrakech with the Atlas and the desert works. Fes with Chefchaouen and the north works. The two together do not.

What we checked

Why this page exists. Every RoamWeek page has to say something true of it and false of its siblings. For Morocco that is the question of how long to stay, which the duration pages below answer one length at a time.
