Bolivia's centrepiece is bought, not found: the Salar de Uyuni is visited by jeep tour, 1 day for the flat itself or 3 days looping the coloured lagoons towards Chile, and the operator you pick matters more than the price you pay. Around that sits the highest inhabited landscape on the continent, so the route is an altitude plan first and a sightseeing plan second, with cash in hand because the machines cannot be trusted to cooperate.
Which Bolivia itinerary should you pick?
The 7 day route: 3 days in and around La Paz, 1 travelling, and the 3 day Uyuni circuit through the lagoons.
Five days means the 1 day salt flat only, which is still worth the country. Ten days adds Lake Titicaca's Isla del Sol properly on the way through.

Why this page exists. Every RoamWeek page has to say something true of it and false of its siblings. For Bolivia that is the question of how long to stay, which the duration pages below answer one length at a time.
